Most of the moms treat their daughters as dolls when they’re still kids and I’m no different! I’m one of those who’s been dolled up by my mom ages ago and this kind of hair is my favorite `do that she does way back. I can’t bring my fingers do the braiding so I slyly asked mom to do it for me. It’s been years since she last combed it. That, I miss.

Next time, I wish I can do fishtail with a twist! ♥

Visual Music Carnival

Felt disappointed with this music carnival because I was expecting far more greater than the usual pinoy band events. The presence of some famous OPM bands in the line up sounds catchy though but I wasn’t able to witness them perform live. Rumor says that other bands declined to play right after witnessing how unorganized the organizers are. Add up the hassle rain pouring down the crowd in the open ground. Even boyfriend’s band can’t keep their cool any longer because of the dilemmas that keep branching out one after the other. Very stressful scene to start the show off.

There aren’t so many “cool fun rides” as what they market it but it’s considerate enough knowing those rides are free — inclusive to what I’ve paid for in the ticket entrance.

Boyfriend and his band (Psycho Destroyer) did a front act. Never thought the crowd will go wild and crazy as they play their two songs. Indeed, there’s a huge difference in watching him play in the bar rather than in an open ground. The crowd and ambiance is just way too different. There are also other emerging bands that plays in between.

And me? I easily got knocked out that I couldn’t wait any longer to get a decent sleep on my bed.

Told everyone that I’ll be posting pictures of what I wore last week during my birthday — and pretty much, this is it. While staring at these pictures, I had an incidental finding that my chipped nails are somewhat complementary to what I was wearing.

Lastly, my day wouldn’t be complete without boyfriend’s picture with me. It’s been a long time since we had a decent picture together.

Boyfriend surprised me for wearing such because I didn’t really expect that my day would be a pink day aside from receiving pink gifts. I asked him why and he slyly replied “Because it’s pinkshady’s day! ♥ Pink, pink!”

Trio Celebration

What’s good about the month of May is that I get to spend lots of special occasion aside from my special day. It’s always been a trio celebration: My birthday, Mother’s Day and lastly, my parent’s wedding anniversary. Last night, I together with my family had dinner at Ding Hao Restaurant somewhere in Calamba. The place was gorgeous that I wanna cry because my point and shoot camera can’t capture the moment.

Isn’t pretty? (: I felt like I was in a debut or something. Well, I never really had the chance to experience a grand debut cotillion who wears fancy dresses and dances with 18 roses. If my memory serves me right, I just had a great sleep that day. Oh, Anne.. move on!

It's My Day!

For those who remembered my birthday last 10th of May, thank you very much for your overwhelming greetings! My day didn’t turn out perfect — a lot of fucked up things happened in between (which I will no longer elaborate), but I chose to brush it off and just enjoyed my day.

These are the gifts I received from the Marketing Team: It’s raining pink!

At work, my office mates (marketing team) prepared a cake for me to blow and ice cream. Though it has become a tradition already for birthday celebrants to be given such, mine surprised me still because this happened right after my workmates’ dismissal. I have this thought that they already left work because some of them are clock punchers who never fails to log out when 4 strikes.

Of course, this wouldn’t be complete without boyfriend’s share of surprise.

This card overwhelmed me a lot because I know he’s too lazy to write and he doesn’t write legibly. At first, I thought he asked someone else to write it for him but he insisted he’s the one who wrote it. I stared at it closely and noticed myself that, “Yes! It was his writing!” Not only that — but he wrote something meaningful and long compared to what I wrote on his birthday card last year. He pretty much over killed my version.

Yes, a soft bath towel. Finally — a new one. It was like 3 years or more since I had a good bath towel. Thank you e-no! (:

So, I know you’ve been wondering how I dressed myself up that day. Well, I wore something loud, something bright, something red! Too obvious for a birthday girl.

For those new people who came into my cyber life, new followers/likers/commentors and netizens, you probably been wondering how come I claim to be a web designer without even flaunting my very own online portfolio. Truth is, I have one but never really been proud to shamelessly plug it on the web. Why? Because that portfolio of mine was created in a jiffy just for the sake of my job hunt last year. I felt like I didn’t put my whole heart in it which led to a mediocre and sloppy masterpiece.

Now, my domain willyoudesign4.us expired already and I no longer wish to renew it anymore. But! I have greater plans for this new portfolio of mine and I can’t wait to launch it soon. What to look forward to? A LOT. Something that is not only limited to blog layouts but a bunch bunch more!

Well, I got your parent’s point. They’re after “easy money” for you. Taking up medicine will really generate tons of bucks compared if you’re an artist. But being in a field like what I does for a living doesn’t mean you’ll be poor. It’s just, if you’ll take medicine/law, chances is that your bucks will grow 5x or more and as for me 3x only. But! If you’ll be a developer as an addition, then you have greater chances of earning bucks or even equal to what your parents wanted.

Back when I was a teenybopper, you can always count me in as someone who’s fond of answering slam notes/slam book/autographs or whatever you call it before. Admit it, you might have experienced writing on such too! Hoho!

I don’t know if it still exists or if it’s somewhat obsolete already because that thingy is just way too cheesy/girly. Today, I happen to scan this Dude book, which is by the way under the possession of my li’l brother, and the content is similar to those slam books I had — minus the cheesyness. Totally for dudes — the guy version.

Oh well, I wish I can design a book too or a magazine or alike, for a change!

Had a dinner birthday celebration at Shakey’s (North) with le boyfriend’s family yesterday. It was Geno’s mom’s birthday and she’s been kind enough to consider me to be invited on her special day. We’re both “May” babies!

Feast your eyes with all these yummy foods. I am more than satisfied of what I’ve eaten that I could hardly stand and walk after pigging out.

TOP: Geno and I looking haggard after work. And wow, we’re so tan already after several times of getting soaked under the sun - oh, summer swimming!

LEFT: His younger brotha and le girlfriend. A manly move for introducing his girl for the first time with his family. Bet this is his first — oh, summer romance!

RIGHT: Most of all, the celebrant and the cutie patootie Ghian (Geno’s li’l bro). Yea, all of his siblings are guys — no marias.

Events like this makes me miss my family even more. But as long as I’m far with my biological family, his’ will always be my second home.

First post for my month — hello May! ♥

So how’s it been? Well it rained so hard today that I thought I’ll be having a hard time going back to Manila after my day off but God is so good that He didn’t let it happened. I’m trying to be productive this past few days (aside from watching kdramas) and I hope I can keep up so I can launch my fully revamped portfolio. I’m so excited and at the same time feel lazy.

Speaking about lazy, I was having a hard time dealing with this bone wrap thingy. I thought of making use of this one for my Sennheiser but it just ended up looking crappy.

Fail! I guess my cord is way too long to fit this one perfectly. Ya’y! Can’t believe that my Sennheiser will turn a year older a few days from now. Never thought it will stay along with me with its condition always at its best. So.. this is quality. *glares to my iPod 4g that is malfunctioning (again) after being replaced with a brand new one*

Weekend Jam. Been serenaded by these guys last weekend (Saturday & Sunday) at his turf. First half was Geno’s father and his cousins and the day after is with his band. This reminded me of someone who randomly asked, “Music is your boyfriend’s middle name — what does it feel as a girlfriend?” Well, I can say being a musician runs in his blood so I wouldn’t wonder why he became this musically inclined. (1) At some random cases, he would just proudly sing his lungs out regardless of what location he is at the moment and regardless if people stares at him while annoyingly talk behind his back. (2) As his girlfriend, I am always being serenaded by his awesome manly voice that can flexibly adapt in whatever kind of genre. What I like most is when he goes acoustic as he strums the guitar while he looks at me straight to my eyes. Seriously, I don’t know how to describe it anymore — there are tons! Bottom line is, it’s fun especially if music is something you can’t live without.

An Invite to Dreamwave

Blame the awful humid weather as the root cause of my grumpy face.

Went swimming again last Saturday at Bocaue, Dreamwave Resort. This time, it’s a call for advance birthday celebration for Geno’s li’l brother who just turned 2 yesterday. It was an invitation from his family that I couldn’t say no.

Swimming has never been this fun until waves gone crazy in the pool! The waves are so strong that it led me to experience stomach muscle cramps the day after. Since it’s a family outing, it felt good that I was able to tag along with his family. Who would’ve thought that I’ll be able to have decent chit chats with his step dad who sounded just like my dad? It’s priceless. Though, there’s one thing that I hated most about this event. I became two tones darker. I forgot to bring sunscreen and so whatever so I’m kinda missing my little fair skin before. /sobs

I have this overflowing pyramid of dreams and goals but I don’t have the will and drive to make those happen even though I have the abundance of time to do it and I hold all the comforts I desire. Everything is just plain drawing. One minute I have the push to achieve something and when I’ve hit rock bottom, everything boils down and breaks. No more force to reverse the trend. Someone will lecture and speak and then later I’ll find myself having trouble hearing nonsense. Now that everything has been said, you now have an inkling why I suddenly been MIA for a while.

Okay, this is already ludicrous and I’m not even mortified — but, I’ll give a better update for those people who cares, as soon as I’ve got the pictures in my hand.

Thank you very much! It really feels good that someone like you still remembers my very own pinkfab way back. About your question about me designing layouts, I believe that aesthetics doesn’t only depend on the graphical elements you place in it, but rather the way you deliver your design in a way that others will understand its sole purpose. Building a branding/identity to your site that will easily retain in people’s mind is also an advantage. Take my blog for an instance — why white? Because the more whitespace you put in it, the more you give emphasis in your content. Why pink? Because it simply represents my domain name. As for the others, why do they mostly build white or black portfolios? To avoid color clashes between the content and the layout. That is then when you find your layout neat. You see, there are lots of things to consider and tons of problem solving to deal with when you build sites and I can’t put to words everything. But somehow, here’s a glimpse of it.

I have this thing kept for years already but still haven’t tested if it works the way it should be. Been suffering from nightmares way back but never did it come to my mind to wear this by those times. Well, this is the cutest dream catcher I’ve seen! But, only because it’s pink. And since my eyes felt drowsy while typing this post, might as well I give my eyes the rest it deserves — a short one — a one hour nap will do!

I’m not earning that much — just enough (: But I must say that having this career as my first job, gives a pretty competitive salary compared to others.
