And I’m not shy to admit that I also cry. Last weekend was a tear-jerking one, but I tend to overlook every infuriating moment of it. It made me realize that, sometimes the best gifts in life are the troubles you don’t have. 

I’m not the kind of person who easily blows my fuse when something infuriating happens. Often times I keep it to myself and tries my best to understand things even the most painful ones. It’s pretty difficult and at the same time fulfilling because you know yourself that you can control your emotions. But there are also times that you outburst and let those out flowing deep within. So that the person whom you’ve been hiding these emotions feel that you are not okay, you weren’t and you’ll never be — because it will always be a sick cycle carousel on your end.

But because I’m exercising my positivity, I guess the bountiful blessings I received are far greater than the burdens I’ve once experienced. Indeed, there are no hopeless situations; there are only people who have grown hopeless about them.

I’m receiving questions about my hair so I piled those up and collected it into one bulk Q&A. Here’s the latest picture of my hair:

1. How does your hair look so natural? Is there a special hair brush for it?

It is? I somewhat see my hair as a thin flat one. So thanks if you see it that way! And no, I don’t comb my hair for more than 3 months already. I just stroke it with my fingers until it goes dry. This became my habit the moment I started working in Manila and that I’m always on a morning rush that I don’t comb my hair before leaving home. Whether I have a work or not, I still don’t comb it. Besides, I don’t have a comb anymore.

Gran Seville

Back when I was in 6th grade, my family decided to move out and leave my childhood town which gave me the impression that it’s best to settle someplace else. As a result, we’ve always been renting for an apartment up to now. So it’s more like 10 years already that we’ve been throwing out cash to our landlord for a space that will never be entitled to us.

But not anymore! My parents decided to purchase a residential and commercial lot in Gran Seville which is somewhat near to the location of the house I bought in Arabella.

As a Christmas gift to them, I’ll be the one who’ll pay the downpayment for it. Hello whopping 4 zeroes! That’s the grandest gesture I ever did for my parents — and they deserve it! Besides, I’ve never handed solid cash on them the moment I started working so this will make it fair and square. Hoho!

Well I’m the kind of person who doesn’t splurge money on clothes, shoes, bags & gadgets. I’m more of toiletries and foods but I also want to buy something for myself. But, I guess it’s time to ring the selfless side of me for now. My wants can wait until next pay day — theirs will come first.

But of course, we are to vacate this place on the next 6 months — which isn’t that long to wait from now. And as for my crib in Arabella, that will wait until I’m married. Hoho! I kid. I’m planning to build my own design studio there so that I have a decent workplace to stay in. 

This is my parents’ dream house and it’s getting less of a dream yet closer to reality now. I remembered when I asked my parents before, “How come you haven’t bought your dream house earlier?” They responded, “If we prioritized having our dream house, then maybe you two (me & my elder sister) won’t be studying in a private school, won’t be graduating with a degree (especially you, you have 2 courses) and won’t be riding in a car.” Now that’s prioritization! And I’m more than glad than I’m part of fulfilling that dream.

The wrapper and presentation itself look fancy already. An obvious deed that a girl crafted it. Hoho! Because seriously, I enjoy doing such that I’m willing to kill an hour or a day just to finish it until I’m fully satisfied with the output.

Judging by the colors, we all know it has a masculine tone. Good thing there’s a black & blue wrapper at the bookstore or else I’ll end up buying the cheesy illustrated ones. Too opposite of the person I’ll be handing this over to. And oh, did I mention who’s this for? Well yea, you guessed it right. It’s for my dearest rockstar, Geno. Happy birthday!

Happy birthday to my sweetest lil big brother, who now reached his teenage years. And as we traditionally do, his day won’t be complete without a cake. He loves to blow candles on his special day.

This cake is flavored Double Dutch — my fave flavor of ice cream! The best part of it? Mallows!! This is actually my first time to ever taste such.

Looking back to the days when you’re still a baby, I will never forget that moment how you innocently peed on my face while lying on bed and how you giggled & smirk while peeing on my book as I do my homework. I was too upset that I wanted to beat you up to pieces. It was a struggle for me to have a little sibling that age. But here you are now, on your teenage years — no longer a kid.

When you were diagnosed to have an ADHD, we already knew you’re a special blessing to us. We love you so much ♥

Aside from Etude’s BB Cream, I’m also using this lipstick. I’m not really fond of using lipsticks because it dries my lips. But this Natasha’s an exception. I don’t know what specific lipstick this is but it has a moisturizing feel when you lather it on your lips. Lip balm & lipstick bound together.

Anonymous asked: Sabi mo there’s nailpolish sa Pony event. Mind to share kung anong klase & if wat brand po? Thx!

The nail polish is glitter gold and it’s sponsored by Wet n Wild. I personally don’t like it and plans to give it away for free. But boyf gave it so, this may be of use next time.

I only do if I’ll be taking pictures/videos or if I’m heading to a gig because I feel more comfortable wearing those kind of clothing than the fitted ones. It helps me move freely while shooting pictures. Besides, wearing one makes me feel different among the others.

Bokeh & The Spot + BKB

Playing around SM North’s Christmas lights display and tried to get a dramatic shot with some bokeh on it. Unfortunately, the lens couldn’t make it. But the lighting was perfect! Atleast for me.

After that, Geno and I headed at The Spot bar. It wasn’t my first time there, but it was my first time to witness that the production who called for this event was left hanging by the invited bands. Out of the many, only 3 arrived. Well, that’s pretty disappointing for a band who came and struggled just to get there. But I don’t know the other band’s story who wasn’t able to make it.

On a random note, I realized that my fringe grew longer already — no more visible side bangs. I guess I should do my own cutting, or maybe not.

That very next day, we headed to west ave at BKB. Due to his friend’s lack of band members, Geno was asked to sing for their band on behalf of their vocalist. Because he was too open with that idea, ze boyf wasn’t just the drummer that night — he also became the vocalist, aka Ian Tayao of Queso. That’s the first time I saw him singing along with the crowd. 

I’m sharing my fave shots that I took because this is the first time he held a mic — in a not-so-fliptop-looking-way (but his outfit does), hoho!

Taking tons of pictures of live band performances has been a habit already and yet — I still suck. Boohoo.

Dear December

If you’re a loyal reader of this blog since 2010, you probably know the curse of this month to me. But if you’re “that” curious to find out why, you can briefly look at this and this and discover yourself what I mean.

Note to self: “December, even if you won’t be nice to me.. I’ll be nice to you.” — and I kid you not. There are lots of things to look forward and new activities to experience. Indeed, once you thoroughly know in your heart and mind that life is difficult, then life gets a lot easier to deal with. Because once difficulty is accepted as a foundation, it no longer surprises you or stops you from building a lifestyle that rises above it.

I just wish I can always freely present my projects and plug it on my portfolio. Unfortunately, I can’t because of disclosure policies. Hahaay. Far more worse, my work will be considered as their property and I’m in no way responsible to claim it in any manner. Sad truth. But if the price is right, I think it will suffice — but still.

Pony Show Off 2 - Let’s Get it On!

We all know that Pony is a famous brand of footwear when it comes to cool kicks. So when Geno discovered that Pony threw a poster art contest for every art enthusiasts, he knew it’s a call to participate — and I believed he has to! So last Wednesday was the most awaited event for all the contestants who made it at the top 40 finalists. Luckily, Geno’s artwork made it to the top 10. 

Because I’m a very supportive girlf, we went together in this event and found ourselves as early birds as we stood second on the entrance line. It was a long wait! But then again, those who comes early has its perks and one of those is having the best seat waiting for us to be occupied.

A comfy couch only for the two of us which sets near the stage performers. This is the best spot for us because others have to sit on the floor just to get near on the stage.

See how near we are on the stage? Pretty close huh.

Speaking of the perks of being an early bird, couch is just one of those. The other one is that we got a photo opp with Kitchie Nadal.

I can’t believe we’re just the same height and body frame — she’s also petite! Even though she didn’t utter a word during this moment, I like the fact that she’s not a snob.

This part is where the photo spam begins. Ready?

I’m all smiles during this shot because Kitchie Nadal smiled at me while doing this pose and I felt shy — super shy :3

This is the stall where all the Top 40 artworks were displayed. Mini gallery indeed! At first glance I thought it’s printed on canvas. I’m deceived!

And of course, this is ze boyf’s entry — The Bout.

The place is not that big as what I expected it to be. But I believe it will suffice a hundred peeps or so.

The host of the night? Kudos to the very humorous guy and internet action star, Ramon Bautista! I didn’t know he’s a film teacher, hoho! No wonder why he’s the one chosen for this event.

DJ Liza of DWLS FM was also there as a host and Ms. Paloma (FHM) as a guest. In all honesty, I don’t know her because I don’t read FHM. But judging the way she dress up, I’m already convinced that she’s an FHM hottie. Look at that booty!

The Absolute Play broke the ice by taking the stage and performing their singles. Again, I don’t know that their band exist and that there’s a kid punk genre emerging already.

This 14 y/o kid (Alto), knows pretty well how to strike a pose. Hoho! 

The performance was followed by Isabela de Leon (more famously known as Duday in Da-De-Di-Do-Du) who was once a child superstar now turned into a chic rockstar. During the event, I didn’t know that she’s “that” person because it’s hard for me to see the resemblance. 

There has been some technical issues during Isabela’s performance that the hosts came up with a game to fill in that moment. And the price? Shoes!! Geno was brave enough to come up on the stage to participate and it’s all for the love for shoes. Hoho!

But since the game is the usual drill (loud claps from the audience = winner), Geno didn’t make it. Who will even clap for him? He didn’t tag along his friends to cheer him up compare to the other guy who brought a pack of friends with him. There was only me!

And of course, the most awaited performance — Kitchie Nadal & Barbie Almalbis. Even though the distance is close enough to take their pictures, it’s still hard to capture their movement and lighting. This is the best shot I can spare and I still suck. Hoho!

Pinoy local music scene never fails to uplift the crowd with events like this. 

Would you believe that this is the only food that we ate during the whole program and that this meal already costed Php 235.00? Haha! Of course I kid. We also ate a thin crust pizza that tastes like skyflakes with cheese on it.

So what are the tokens I received from this Pony event? Well they’ve given away an eco bag with random stuff in it. One of those is a pony shirt which is obviously won’t gonna fit on me.

Clavel Magazine with a price tag on it which features JP Cuison (an artist that I got to know via Graphika Manila 2012 event).

..and some other random stuff like stickers and nail polish.

Now, if you’re about to ask me if Geno was able to bag the award and claim the grand prize throne, well.. he didn’t. But the name of his artwork did! While announcing who’s the grand prize winner for the poster art competition, the title of the winning artwork was named wrong. There has been a confusion. DJ Liz told that the winning piece was entitled “The Bout” (Geno’s artwork), (which was jokingly followed by Ramon’s humor, “The Boat?”) but the artwork that appears on the screen was Knockout (same goes with the windows desktop filename that appeared on screen — it spells, The Bout instead of Knockout).

Congratulations to all the winners especially to my dear boyf. You may not have the title but you’re still the winner for me. Bear in mind that this contest is not the only basis to prove yourself how great you are in digital art/manipulation. You’ve bagged and scored more than this (both locally and internationally) — you know better (:

IDOL? Thanks! I don’t know that someone like you idolizes me. I appreciate it (: And wow, you’re the first to ask this. Bet you’re the only blogger (excluding my offline blogger friends) who cared about my resignation. Well, just like what I’ve said, it’s the hardest decision I made. 

My portfolio, DesignPastels, windowed a lot of opportunities to me which drawn the next big leap that’s waiting for me. It’s an opportunity that doesn’t just knock on your door with a very promising offer that when you decline, it will stay on your door step. So I took the risk and grabbed the offer. Almost everyone who knew my case told me that my decision was right and I felt that way too.

I’m guessing this is a response from my old post. I no longer have an iPod 4g. I replaced it with an iPhone 4 instead. So far, ios 6 is not acting up weird which gives me the conclusion that maybe, the bug is more evident for ipods.

I love kawaii stuff but Hello Kitty doesn’t count. But I fell in love with Kitty’s turf! I suddenly felt like I was one of those kids who were about to trespass the line just to get inside that life-size doll house. They’re like screaming, “Let us in!”.
